This is what many of my liberal US and nearly all of my European friends don't get. The most important reason for citizenship gun ownership protected by constitution is to protect from the biggest potential criminal of all - the government.

Having just fought a war of independents against the British colonists, the American founders understood all too well what unlimited government and dictatorial powers could do.

The King of England "pre-broke" many of the items in the US Bill of Rights. Censoring speech, searches without due process, billeting of soldiers in homes without pay, taxing unfairly. That is why I think the Constitutional Congress was so keen to add them to the US Constitution. The soon experience of the French revolution turning into a dictatorial bloodbath showed how important it is.

If guns had been illegal in the American colonies then it is quite likely there would not have been successful revolution. And USA today that is a thorn in the side of the Dark State. The DS have been working hard to get ride of all American rights. 1A and 2A are two of the most important amendments we have left.

I'm not worried about what the Dems are saying because the American spirit is more alive now and growing stronger. Plus people around here (in SC) are trigger happy anyway so I'd like to see someone try to take their weapons away. haha
