Given that I am a pro-Trump Libertarian, nobody is more stoked about Trump speaking at the Libertarian convention than me.
Trump is by no means perfect, but he has more Libertarian policies than any President in my lifetime, and he is clearly an enemy of the establishment.
Obviously, he’s had his shortcomings and mistakes, but he is incontrovertibly an enemy of the Uniparty, and his MAGA movement is not synonymous with the GOP. Trump represents an entirely new faction, separate from the Neocons. He is merely using the GOP as a vessel to win elections.
You may not like him or agree with all of his policies, but he is at least willing to lay it all on the line to fight the system. Libertarians might have a different vision on how to get there, but Trump and Libertarians largely share the same goals and have the same enemies.
Trump is at least willing to sit at the table and ask you to vote for him. That’s more respect than other front-runner has done for the Libertarian Party. Trump is also a deal-maker, so maybe he is willing to listen to some Libertarian viewpoints, and make some compromises to win your vote.
He recognizes the magnitude of the situation, and is willing to do whatever is necessary to ensure that Biden and the Deep State don’t win and drag us directly into WW3.
I see this as an opportunity for unity and for growth between MAGA and Libertarians, who are a lot closer than most realize. There is a lot of overlap.
Libertarians want Libertarian policies. Trump wants Libertarian votes. Quid pro quo. Let’s make a deal.
We could sure use a more libertarian approach to "government" so I'm glad to see this. My brother is a die hard libertarian and has always had a very bad attitude towards President Trump, however along with you I also think this is one of our best shots at getting away from what my brother calls the "Demopublican" agenda and back to a more freedom oriented system. He is considerably less amenable to compromise than me. I tend to think any step in the right direction should be encouraged and supported even if it doesn't include everything we want.
This is an exciting development, but it's one we should've expected. Trump has been called divisive for years and it couldn't be further from the truth. His approach to the upcoming election has not left any Americans out of the loop. He has shown that he will listen to all viewpoints and make the decisions that work for us the people. No matter how things look,(more importantly how they are portrayed) the truth of the matter is, Trump will do what is best for us, the American people...
