Which brings us back to the saying, LET TRUMP BE TRUMP.

He understands far more about whats been years in the making than he’s given credit for.

I also read a Substack from Peggy Hall, The Healthy American, and she insists Trump has no Constitutional authority to impose tariffs. In addition she insists: The United States is:

The world's wealthiest country, the number one exporter of services, the number one exporter of agricultural products and the number two overall exporter of products.

This goes against everything I've been reading on Twitter. Am I misinformed? Are the tariffs just a way to get manufacturing back in the U.S.?

No. Tariffs are a way of leveraging the huge U.S. consumer economy against foreign countries' high protectionist tariffs THEY have (for a long time) placed on OUR exports to their countries. Pres. Trump is trying to level the trading field (so to speak). He wants FAIR trade, not FREE trade at any cost. FREE trade has already wiped out U.S. manufacturing. Trump uses tariffs to return to FAIR trade and incentivize U.S. companies and others to manufacture their U.S.-marketed products HERE instead of in countries who use slave wage labor with no environmental laws.

I understand that politics is the practice of compromise, and that it can be no other way. Compromise and deal making go hand in hand.

I wish only that Trump and other elected officials would simply honor their oath of office and govern in accordance with constitutional principles. There is little to no evidence that Donald has ever read the US Constitution or is familiar with its principles.
